Join Snackcraft as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic

Imagine starting your shift with a quick walk-through of the production floor, listening for unusual sounds, scanning for early warning signs, and opening your PM list. A conveyor needs an adjustment, a sensor flag is tripping intermittently, and a line changeover is scheduled for later this morning. You team up with Production and Operations, prioritize safety, and keep the plant moving—safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Tackle Day-to-Day

• Carry out routine maintenance on both production and facility systems to keep uptime strong.
• Diagnose and fix mechanical and basic electrical issues across motors, conveyors, pumps, sensors, belts, and bearings.
• Support troubleshooting on hydraulic and pneumatic components.
• Execute scheduled preventive maintenance to head off unplanned downtime.
• Respond quickly and safely to equipment problems to get lines running again.
• Assist with equipment setup, changeovers, startups, and shutdowns.
• Inspect equipment regularly and flag concerns before they become major repairs.
• Interpret basic blueprints, electrical schematics, manuals, and work instructions.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and meters properly and safely.
• Document work: complete work orders, inspections, and required records.
• Maintain clean, orderly tool and work areas.
• Partner closely with Production and Operations to minimize downtime.
• Support upgrades, improvements, and new equipment installs.
• Follow all safety, food safety, quality, GMP, and sanitation expectations.
• Share knowledge—assist in training team members on safe use and basic care of equipment when needed.
• Handle other maintenance tasks as assigned.

What You Bring Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Hands-on experience in maintenance, repair, manufacturing, construction, or similar settings.
• Foundational understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and pinpoint issues.
• Basic familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Comfort using standard hand and power tools.
• Ability to read basic equipment instructions and electrical drawings.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Reliable attendance with a strong work ethic.
• Commitment to safety and food safety procedures.
• Eagerness to learn new equipment and maintenance skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical school, maintenance coursework, or related training.
• Exposure to PLCs or Allen-Bradley controls.
• Experience with motors, conveyors, pumps, sensors, drives, belts, and bearings.
• Background with automated production equipment.
• Prior work in food, beverage, or general manufacturing.
• Experience participating in preventive maintenance programs.

Physical Demands

This is a hands-on role with regular movement throughout the facility. You will need to:

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Bend, kneel, climb, crawl, and reach as tasks require.
• Work safely around operating machinery.
• Operate in hot, cold, noisy, or otherwise physically demanding areas.
• Use hand and power tools safely.
• Respond to equipment issues during production.

Work Environment

You’ll be in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, spending much of your time on the production floor with exposure to:

• Manufacturing equipment and moving machinery.
• Noise and temperature variation.
• Food production areas and sanitation activities.
• Dust, ingredients, and typical plant conditions.

Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
