Staff Software Engineer - CI & Release

Salary: $158,400 - 237,600 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline, plus 4+ years of experience in hardware engineering, software engineering, systems engineering, or a related area; or a masters degree with 3+ years of experience; or a PhD with 2+ years of experience.
• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 8+ years of software, DevOps, or release engineering experience, or a masters degree with 6+ years of experience.
• We need expert-level Python and Bash scripting skills.
• We require hands-on experience integrating an AI coding agent such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Codex into CI or development workflows.
• We need deep experience with CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, TeamCity, or similar tools, along with Git-based source control workflows.
• We require proven end-to-end ownership of build, release, and deployment pipelines in a multi-platform environment.
• We need exposure to JIRA or an equivalent system for defect tracking and sprint-based triage.
• We require effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
• Preferred experience includes ML framework build systems such as ONNX Runtime, ExecuTorch, or TFLite/LiteRT.
• Preferred experience includes C/C++ build and debugging proficiency with tools such as CMake or Bazel.
• Preferred experience includes Android NDK, cross-compilation, and packaging or release logistics such as Maven and Gradle.
• Preferred experience includes Windows CI/CD pipelines and Windows ARM64 build toolchains.
• Preferred experience includes Agile development environments.
• Preferred working knowledge includes DL inference pipelines and on-device performance profiling.
• Preferred ability to collaborate effectively across a globally distributed, multi-timezone engineering organization.

• We design, own, and evolve multi-platform CI pipelines for ORT QNN-EP, ExecuTorch, and LiteRT delegates across Linux, Windows, and Android.
• We maintain hermetic, reproducible build recipes and toolchains while managing cross-platform dependencies and versioning.
• We integrate HIL and on-device automated testing into CI workflows for Snapdragon SoC validation at scale.
• We embed AI-assisted tooling such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Codex into CI and developer workflows to improve team productivity.
• We own the full release pipeline, including versioning strategy, artifact packaging, signed binary distribution, and release gate criteria.
• We define and enforce automated quality gates, including regression benchmarks, performance thresholds, and op-coverage checks aligned with upstream release cadences.
• We coordinate SDK artifact delivery with the QAIRT SDK release train and downstream ISV partners.
• We partner with delegate engineers to build automated functional, performance, and regression test suites covering op coverage, numerical accuracy, and latency.
• We develop dashboards and alerting for build health, test pass rates, and performance trends, and integrate with JIRA for defect tracking and release-readiness reporting.
• We streamline inner-loop workflows with local build scripts, container images, pre-commit hooks, and environment bootstrapping that mirrors CI behavior.
• We maintain CI runbooks and documentation for a globally distributed team while aligning infrastructure with Qualcomm Corporate tooling standards.
• We coordinate with upstream open-source communities to track breaking changes and contribute automation improvements back upstream.
• We set technical direction for CI, build, and release infrastructure across a multi-framework delegates portfolio.
• We make independent architectural decisions that affect Delegates delivery, QAIRT SDK integration, and ISV release pipelines.
• We provide release-readiness signals to Program Management and help inform release go/no-go decisions.
• We drive cross-functional alignment on CI standards across Engineering, Program Management, and Product.
