Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in performing sterile vaginal exams independently and possess expert-level experience in labor and delivery nursing.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to patients during labor and delivery.
Perform sterile vaginal exams and triage with a focus on safety and accuracy.
Monitor and assess maternal and fetal well-being throughout the labor process.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create and implement care plans.
Educate patients and families regarding labor processes, pain management, and postpartum care.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) with a current nursing license.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery nursing; consideration for candidates with relevant experience of 1.5 years.
Must have expert experience in performing sterile vaginal exams independently.
Current certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BCLS, NRP.
Experience with EPIC electronic health records is required.

Scheduling Requirements

Must be flexible and open to working weekends, with expectations to exceed typical scheduling to meet unit needs.
Scheduling preferences will be considered but are not guaranteed.
Availability for every other weekend shift is required.

Additional Information

Facility features an acute care environment with 320 staffed beds.
Free parking provided for staff.
Uniforms: RN - Royal Blue; L&D/OR - Provided.
Charting is completed using Meditech.
Travelers may float between like units, including Mother-Baby.
