This role leads engineering initiatives, provides advanced (L3) support, and ensures scalable, secure implementation across enterprise environments.Key ResponsibilitiesLead design and implementation of Zscaler DLP policies including cloud app control, file restrictions, and tenant controlsDrive end-to-end DLP lifecycle (requirements, design, build, testing, deployment)Partner with business and security stakeholders to define and enforce data protection requirementsMonitor, investigate, and respond to DLP alerts and potential data exfiltration eventsGenerate reports on policy effectiveness, trends, and false positivesProvide L3 troubleshooting and support for DLP and Zscaler issuesDrive automation and optimization opportunities across controlsAct as SME and technical lead supporting engineering and architecture effortsMajor DutiesImplement Zscaler DLP and security policiesAnalyze requirements and determine feasible solutionsSupport testing, documentation, and rollout of DLP capabilitiesCollaborate with Enterprise Architecture and Security teamsImprove processes and drive automationIndependently execute engineering deliverablesProvide consulting and leadership guidance to team membersRequired Skills & ExpertiseStrong hands-on experience with Zscaler DLPDeep knowledge of data loss prevention, classification, and data protection principlesUnderstanding of network security (proxies, firewalls, traffic analysis)Experience with Azure security (AIP, MIP, MCAS) and enterprise DLP toolsStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skillsExperience working in regulated environments (FFIEC, PCI-DSS, SOX preferred)Experience & Qualifications5+ years of experience in Cyber Security or Data Protection EngineeringBachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceCertifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or SANS preferredLeadership Scope (P3 Expectations)Lead medium to large engineering initiativesWork independently with minimal supervisionProvide mentorship and technical leadershipAct as escalation point for high priority incidentsInfluence engineering standards and control improvementsNice to HaveExperience with secure email, endpoint DLP, CASB solutionsExposure to security automation and scriptingUnderstanding of enterprise data protection strategy and governanceWorking at Northern TrustNorthern Trust offers a collaborative culture, career development opportunities, flexible work options, and comprehensive benefits including financial, health, and professional development programs.Salary Range:Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay.
