About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required License: Must have an active license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Ortho experience required Description: Position: RN MS/Tele (Ortho) Schedule consists of weekend work. Requires six weekend shifts per contract. All requests for time off must be included. Requests will only be accommodated if approved at booking. Facility can call off one shift per two weeks. Accepts first-time travelers. Allows local candidates within specified radius. Pending license is not accepted. Must have one year of experience with EPIC charting system. Patient ratio ranges from 1:5 to 1:6. This is an adult 26-bed orthopedic spine unit. The unit specializes in spinal surgeries. Common procedures include laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies. The unit integrates pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support. Patient diagnoses include care for Medical/Surgical, Telemetry, cardiac issues, low-risk Acute Coronary Syndrome, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, dehydration, chest pain, DVT, and PE. Staff may float to other units as needed. Floating is limited to areas where staff are qualified. Additional clinical skills include bedside lumbar puncture and post-surgical care. Special equipment utilized includes telemetry and bedside pulse oximetry. Interdisciplinary support includes various therapy and social service teams. The unit's daily census is around 26 patients. This position provides an opportunity to offer specialized care post-operative from orthopedic surgeries.
