General Surgery Physician Assistant

We Are Hiring Location: Murfreesboro, TN Facility Name: Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital Schedule: Weekend mainly, PRN What You Will Do Ascension Saint Thomas Medical Partners is adding a PRN surgical physician assistant to our team in Murfreesboro, TN. Working 8-9 hour Saturday and Sunday (on occasion helping fill in for vacations during the week) Working with General Surgeon on call with hospital patients Manages assigned patients;performs new consults; Assessments during rounding Prepare and execute discharge orders and notes Collaboration with other services and frequent interaction with hospitalist About the facility: 407 beds, this regional referral center features a modern facility built in 2010 and a newly-renovated 16 operating room suite The hospital is centrally located in the fastest growing county in the state of Tennessee on a beautiful 68-acre campus on the bustling “Medical Center Parkway” corridor with convenient access to dining and shopping areas The hospital campus is currently undergoing a $110M expansion project, which includes the addition of 36 new high acuity beds, a parking garage dedicated to hospital employees and physicians, 18 new critical care unit beds, six additional NICU bassinets, 17 new post-surgery bays The hospital is well known in the community for its women’s services and well-established heart surgery program Saint Thomas Health and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) have an established partnership in Middle Tennessee for training medical residents in a variety of specialties including internal medicine, family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and general surgery Why Providers Choose Ascension Physician-led, collaborative culture Long-term practice stability National network with local autonomy Mission-centered care rooted in service What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Physician Assistant credentialed from the Tennessee Committee on Physicians Assistants obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Education: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program. Master's degree preferred. Work Experience: 1 year of experience preferred.
