The Healthcare Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth and efficient operation within a medical office. This position is responsible for welcoming patients, managing appointments, handling patient records, and supporting billing and insurance verification. Working as part of a small team, the Healthcare Receptionist handles a high volume of patients daily using cloud-based EHR systems, maintaining professionalism and excellent customer service throughout regular business hours.

 

Responsibilities

• Check in patients promptly and courteously
• Schedule and manage patient appointments efficiently
• Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries professionally
• Manage and update patient records accurately
• Verify insurance information and assist with billing processes
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain a welcoming environment
• Perform data entry maintaining confidentiality and accuracy
• Manage the waiting room to ensure patient comfort and flow

 

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR), especially cloud-based systems
• Proficiency in appointment scheduling software
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
