Direct Support Professional II

Part-time Direct Support Professional II
The City of Virginia Beach is recruiting for a Part-time Direct Support Professional II to work in our residential facilities assisting the Intellectually and Developmentally Disabled population.
The Direct Support Professional II will:
- Implement Person-Centered Individual Support Plans (ISP) for up to 12 assigned participants.
- Assist with meal preparation and activities of daily living.
- Complete all required documentation to show progress or regression towards the participant's outcomes, activities and essential supports
- Complete all required billing processes to ensure the program accurately and ethically bills for services provided.
- Administer medications as prescribed utilizing the 5 Rights of administration.
- Assist with and/or complete hygiene tasks to include, but are not limited to, showering, bathing, using the restroom, changing protective undergarments, brushing teeth, etc.
- Assist with scheduling and attending medical appointments.
- Follow all health and safety protocols as outlined by clinical and medical professionals.
- Check or verify medications delivered for accuracy and report inaccuracies immediately to the pharmacy and/or the Case Coordinator.
- Identify, schedule, and support participants to participate in various community integration opportunities.
- Transport participants with the use of a city vehicle and/or personal vehicle (dependent on program and city vehicle availability).
- Uphold all confidentiality, Human Rights, and Home and Community-Based Service (HCBS) Rights at all times.
- Manage behavioral and crisis situations utilizing Therapeutic Options Techniques.
