Rehabilitation Counselor

Job Summary Rehabilitation Counselor (S) – Agency Department: Department of Health and Human Services, Division Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD). The position is located at the Salisbury Unit Office in Rowan County and primarily serves individuals with mental health and substance use disorders. Responsibilities Evaluate professional diagnostic data to determine eligibility and required rehabilitation services. Develop and implement written rehabilitation plans of services in conjunction with the client, parent, and/or guardian. Provide rehabilitation services within a guidance and counseling relationship, offering supportive counseling. Monitor client progress throughout the service delivery process. Work directly with community partners and employers to assist individuals with disabilities in becoming successfully employed. Document service delivery and case progress in the case‑management system as required by agency policy. Qualifications Minimum qualifications : Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling from an appropriately accredited institution; or a Master’s degree in a related human services field from an appropriately accredited institution; or current certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor by the Commission of Rehabilitation Counselor Certification. Preferred qualifications : Knowledge of and experience working with people with disabilities. Knowledge of and experience with case management. Experience working within a team setting. Compensation & Benefits Salary grade range: $43,267 – $75,718. Recruitment range: $43,267 – $64,000. Position is eligible for a hybrid‑teleworking schedule, including weekly onsite work hours.
