Aqua Aerobics InstructorNorfolk Yacht & Country Club is seeking an energetic, reliable, and experienced Part-Time Aqua Aerobics Instructor to lead engaging aquatic fitness classes for members of varying ages and fitness levels. The ideal candidate is passionate about health and wellness, enjoys working with people, and can create a safe, motivating, and inclusive class environment.Essential ResponsibilitiesLead safe, effective, and engaging aqua aerobics classes for members of all fitness levelsDesign and implement water-based workouts focused on cardiovascular fitness, strength, flexibility, and mobilityProvide exercise modifications and individualized guidance when appropriateEnsure participant safety by monitoring pool activity and enforcing aquatic safety proceduresArrive prepared and set up equipment before each class; clean and store equipment afterwardFoster a welcoming, positive, and member-focused atmosphereStay current on fitness trends and aquatic exercise techniquesSupport special wellness events and aquatic programming as neededQualificationsPrevious experience teaching aqua aerobics or group fitness classes requiredCurrent Group Fitness and/or Aqua Fitness certification preferredCPR/AED and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain upon hireStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to motivate and engage participants of all ages and abilitiesProfessional appearance and positive attitudeKnowledge of aquatic safety standards and proper exercise techniquesPhysical RequirementsAbility to demonstrate aquatic exercises in the water for extended periodsAbility to lift and move fitness equipment as neededComfortable working in indoor and outdoor pool environmentsSchedulePart-time hoursMorning, evening, and/or weekend availability may be requiredFlexible scheduling based on class demand and seasonal programming
