SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Surveillance Supervisor, the Surveillance Agent I is responsible for regulatory enforcement and compliance of established policies, procedures, regulatory publications, tribal, federal, and state laws. The Surveillance Agent I assists in gaming and non-gaming asset protection in and around the Santa Clara Development Corporation. In addition, the Surveillance Agent I ensures procedural violations are documented, potential violations are reviewed, and actively upholds the ongoing safety and security of all guests and team members while safeguarding enterprise assets. The Surveillance Agent I will be responsible for observing, monitoring, and recording all activity occurring in the corporation and document observations on a daily log or in writing as required. This position gives the candidate one year to prepare with training provided for a mandatory certification to maintain employment with the Surveillance department. This role requires a keen understanding of Santa Clara Development Corporation protocols and advanced knowledge of surveillance technologies to ensure the safety and security of the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
- Analyzes recorded and/or live surveillance video in gaming and non-gaming areas around the Santa Clara Development Corporation to detect any suspicious and/or illicit activities, which may pose a risk to team members, vendors, guests, Tribal residents, or operations.
- Accountable for conducting observations of gaming and non-gaming areas and writing detailed and accurate reports, which includes data entry.
- Responsible for multitasking in between telephone calls and radio communications, collects and logs pertinent information utilizing surveillance software.
- Works closely and maintains excellent communication with Santa Clara Development Corporation team members and leadership to gather relevant facts of an incident in order to investigate non-gaming criminal activity, requested reviews, injuries and/or illness claims/reports and safety risks.
- Performs routine camera patrols of all areas within Santa Clara Development Corporation, as well as the parking structures to ensure the safety and security of team members, vendors, guests, Tribal residents or operations.
- Conducts extensive reviews and exports video evidence for incidents that occur at Santa Clara Development Corporation.
- Performs camera checks and inputs Surveillance technical work orders or malfunction forms, and reports any other problems pertaining to surveillance equipment, as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of surveillance equipment to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Ensure compliance with the Santa Clara Development Corporation policies and procedures, Gaming Compact, and all applicable NIGC requirements, MICS, ICS.
- Adheres to Santa Clara Pueblo law regarding chain of custody and requests from outside law enforcement agencies.
- Maintain accurate records of surveillance activities, incidents, and investigations.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as Security and Law Enforcement, to address security concerns and incidents.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation as required by management.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any security-related incidents or emergencies.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in surveillance technology.
- Monitors all SCDC properties.
- Responsible for disclosing irregularities, variances from procedures etc., observed during the performance of duties to the Shift Supervisor.
- Assist with conducting investigations.
- Conduct reviews and transfer incidents to a separate composite.
- Report any procedure violation and/ or irregularities observed and generate reports as required.
- Use of two-way radio equipment.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret policies and procedures, directions, reports, and other working documents.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, procedure manuals and other working documents.
- Ability to effectively communicate one on one, in small group situations and in moderate to large gatherings of associates and /or executives.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers.
- Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

- High school diploma or GED
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid gaming license.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must have strong organizational, communication, employee relations, computer, and decision-making skills.
- Must be able to function successfully in a team environment.
- Must be a self-starter with excellent follow through.
- Must be able to work and interact with departments throughout the organization.
- Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor in a high stress environment.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including holidays, nights, and weekends.
- Proven experience in surveillance operations or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
- Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements related to surveillance activities.
- Certification in surveillance or relevant field is a plus.
- Must have the ability to observe situations analytically and objectively.
- Must be able to record information accurately and completely.
- Must accurately recall and express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Must remain calm under stressful conditions, exercise reasonable judgment and make sound decisions especially during emergency situations.
- Must be well-groomed and clean.
- Must demonstrate the ability to produce well-written documents with regards to spelling, grammar, punctuation, organization, and content as evidenced by a written assignment or test during the hiring process.
- Must have strong computer skills and ability to utilize Microsoft Applications.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The physical demands and the work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- The employee must frequently lift, assist and/or move up to approximately 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- The employee is required to sit and stand for long periods of time.
- The employee is regularly exposed to equipment and electrical hazards around monitors, power supplies, and any other existing surveillance components.
- Ability to work flexible hours, shifts, or days as determined by business needs.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. However, sometimes the noise level increases to loud.
- Contact: Frequent contact with team members. Frequent contact with SCDC department heads. Moderate contact with vendors.
