Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – NICU Level IV – Wisconsin

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Location: Madison, Wisconsin

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00am - 7:30pm), Monday through Friday, with 2-3 weekend shifts required per 6-week scheduling period

Highlights:

• Work in a 26-bed Level IV NICU within a comprehensive pediatric medical and surgical center
• Care for high-acuity neonates requiring advanced diagnostic and therapeutic services, including post-operative patients, cardiac cases, and surgical complexities
• Experience with advanced ventilation modes (invasive/noninvasive), tracheostomy/vent management, and g-tube care
• Epic charting system utilized throughout the facility
• Magnet-designated facility with patient- and family-centered care model
• 24 hours of orientation provided; interdisciplinary team support including IV teams, respiratory services, PT, pharmacy, and more

Requirements:

• Current RN license (Wisconsin or compact state) required
• Minimum 2 years total NICU Level III/IV experience required
• At least 1 full year of Level IV NICU experience required (hard requirement)
• BLS and NRP certifications required (AHA only); PALS preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Pass/fail telemetry testing required prior to start (strict passing criteria with specific requirements for lethal rhythms and cardiac interpretation)
• Must be located 50 miles or more from the facility
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)

Clinical Skills & Experience:

• Experience with neonates born at less than 29 weeks and 29-34 weeks gestation
• Competency in ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP), high-frequency ventilation, and oscillators
• Proficiency with arterial line management, central line care and blood draws, IV vasopressors, and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Experience managing post-operative abdominal, cardiac, and surgical patients
• Knowledge of therapeutic hypothermia (cooling blanket), dysrhythmia interpretation, and neonatal dosage calculations
• Familiarity with UAC/UVC, g-tube placement and management, tracheostomy care, and various oxygen delivery systems
• Patient ratios of 1:3

Additional Details:

• Float requirement: Must be willing to float to care for patients less than 12 months of age across all pediatric units, including PICU (travelers float first)
• 4-6 weekend shifts per contract based on unit needs
• Two periods of pre-approved time off available
• Parking permit required if parking onsite; alternative transportation options available
