VCR Project Manager II

Location Omaha, NE Position Summary The Project Manager II within the Office of Special Projects will support the strategic initiatives of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research. The Project Manager II, with limited guidance, will oversee evaluation and performance measurement for planning, implementing, and reporting on key project and portfolio milestones for all capabilities, activities, and timelines of the assigned project. The PM will work on moderately complex projects with key stakeholders throughout the university to define, source, and track outcomes-based metrics measured throughout the project. The PM will conduct independent strategic task implementation and will bring together appropriate working groups of internal and external partners to achieve the goals of the program. Required Qualifications Education: Any degree is acceptable. (Concentration and minors are not equivalent to a major). Will consider additional related post‑high school education in lieu of required experience. Experience: 3 years of project management experience with projects in excess of one million dollars. License: None. Computer Applications: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Outlook. Other Computer Applications: Microsoft OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Microsoft Planner. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to work independently to achieve departmental goals, deadlines, and desired outcomes; strong follow‑up skills; ability to keep track of a long and complex to‑do list in the face of tight deadlines and competing priorities; strong interpersonal skills for professional relationship management. Preferred Qualifications Education: Business Administration, Healthcare/Nursing Administration, Industrial Engineering, Organizational Development or a related field. Experience: Experience with preparation of written documents and/or proofreading; experience with leadership reports; experience in an academic setting. License: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute or Green Belt. Computer Applications: Not applicable.
