Shop Coordinator

Due to continued growth, we are looking to add a Shop Coordinator to our Mechanicville, NY team. This role is responsible for procuring materials and supplies while supporting shop operations, fabrication, material delivery, and administrative coordination. Success in this role requires strong organizational, communication, mathematical, and time-management skills, along with a commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality work. Key Responsibilities Procure materials and supplies while considering quality, price, and timeliness. Assist fire alarm technicians, sprinkler fitters, and inspectors with various job duties. Support job managers with the fabrication and delivery of materials to job sites. Assist fire alarm technicians and sprinkler fitters as secondary labor, including support with fire alarm panel testing. Assist office coordinators with administrative tasks to ensure materials are available for the shop and other DU locations as needed. Prepare each job according to fabrication lists and verbal or written instructions. Operate shop equipment and machinery in accordance with safety requirements. Report problems and discrepancies to management. Maintain a clean and orderly work area at all times. Assist the Shop Foreman as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Strong mathematical skills, including the ability to read a tape measure and add and subtract fractions. Strong communication, organizational, reading, and time-management skills. Valid driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications Two years of experience in a shop setting. Physical Demands & Work Environment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with another person or mechanical assistance. Ability to climb ladders up to 6 feet. Ability to operate a forklift. Work in a shop environment with exposure to outside elements during all seasons. The wage for this role is $25 to $30 per hour , based on experience and qualifications.
