Accounting Manager – Real Estate

On-site

Join a well-established real estate owner/developer as an Accounting Manager responsible for the day-to-day accounting activities for a diverse portfolio of properties. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who is not only detail-oriented and technically strong, but also interested in leveraging technology and AI to improve processes, increase efficiency, and modernize an accounting department.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting for a diverse portfolio of real estate properties.
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Review financial activity for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
• Prepare and analyze property-level financial statements and reports.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Work closely with property management and internal teams to resolve accounting issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting.
• Evaluate and implement technology, automation, and AI solutions to streamline accounting workflows and reduce manual processes.
• Help modernize existing accounting systems and develop more efficient ways of managing data and reporting.
• Take ownership of projects that improve the overall effectiveness of the accounting department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience; real estate accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with property-level accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close preferred.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting software and technology.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
