When Alfred Fain founded a small Rhode Island tire store in 1924, at the time no one could have predicted how Teknor Apex would become an international custom compounder sought out by companies around the world. Responsibilities:

• Experience in hands on mechanical work.
• Machining experience using vertical mills, lathes, and surface grinders.
• Basic understanding of systems, print reading, layout, bearing failure and mechanical drives.
• Ensures shop, equipment and tools are safe to use.
• Ensures tools and equipment are maintained, in good working order and secured.
• Must be able to be on-call and work overtime as needed.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of mechanical systems.
• 3 5 years practical experience in a related field.
• Computer skills required.
• High school diploma or GED

Newly hired external candidates for eligible Hourly Maintenance Mechanic positions may be eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus. The bonus will be paid out in 2 installments:

• $1,000 after successful completion of 90 days of employment
• $1,000 after 180 days of continuous employment

Bonus payments are subject to applicable taxes and require the employee to be actively employed and in good standing on the applicable payout date. Additional terms and conditions will be provided in the offer materials.
