Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU

Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry / Stepdown

Schedule: 3x12-hour nights

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years experience in Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Skills in IV start, central line care/management, heparin protocols, insulin drips/protocols
• Proficient with high-flow nasal cannula and heated high-flow O2
• Experience with cardiac drips (initiate, then transfer to ICU if escalation needed)
• EPIC charting experience required

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatric patients in a Progressive Care Unit
• Monitor and interpret vital signs and telemetry data, identifying changes in patient status
• Administer medications and manage IV therapies according to protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care plans
• Document patient information accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Assist in patient education regarding health conditions and post-discharge planning

Compliance / Notes:

• Candidates must complete fingerprinting promptly after contract signing
• RTO (Request Time Off) required with submission
• Two professional references required, including one manager/director or formal supervisor
• Valid compact or state RN license required at time of submission
• Orientation consists of 36 hours
