Staff Accountant IIWind Harvest is bringing its H-type, vertical axis wind turbines to turbulent mid-level wind resources where traditional turbines can't secure permits or won't operate well. Our answer to this problem is the Wind Harvester, the culmination of many years of cutting edge R&D. It is completing Technology Readiness Level 7 with testing at the UL Advanced Wind Turbine Testing Facility in Amarillo, Texas. The primary market for this breakthrough technology is wind farms with excellent but until now, unusable wind resources beneath the fleet of tall turbines on these properties.Wind Harvest's ambition is to be the world's leading developer of technology and projects in the mid-level wind energy space and be responsible for tens of thousands of MWs of new renewable energy projects worth billions of dollars installed and operating before the end of the decade.Hours: 40 hours per weekPay: $55,000-$65,000 per yearType: Exempt, Full-TimeSupervisor: Chief Administrative OfficerLocation: Davis, California with possible remote workBenefits: Holidays, sick time, flexible scheduling, and the opportunity to participate in Company Equity Incentive PlanSummary: The Staff Accountant II will maintain a general ledger and review financial statements for accuracy before preparing reports that will assist senior management in making informed decisions about upcoming projects or years' budgets. This position is also responsible for keeping track and recording all transactions within the Wind Harvest family of companies.Position Duties:Managing financial reports, records, and accountsConducting billing processes (e.g. tax, revenue)Maintaining the general ledgerMaintain and update accounting records and filesAnalyze budgets and create expense reportsExamine tax policies and handle tax payments and returnsMeet with clients to discuss confidential accounting issuesPost transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.g. by assets, liabilities and expenses)Reconcile bank statementsAnalyze transactions with internal and external stakeholdersConduct month-end and year-end closuresPrepare documents for auditsAdvise clients on financial issues via email or phoneApply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulationsReport to the Accounting Manager and work to improve financial processesOther duties as assigned.Qualifications:Solid organizational skills, attention to detail, highly motivated.Superior communication skills, excellent reading and comprehension skills, and willingness to ask questions.Must be a team player and leadExcellent use of Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, and other business applicationsKnowledge of Quickbooks a plus, or other accounting softwareConfidentiality and integrity3+ years accounting experience.Degree in Accounting; MSc is a plusCompetency with office equipment.Interest and passion for stopping global warming and doing something big about the climate crisis.
