Job Summary Infrastructure Engineer (12-24 Months Contract)
- Design & Deliver Infrastructure: Develop infrastructure tools and services aligned with architectural standards and business strategies in a regulated financial environment.
- Platform Engineering: Work within a team to build and evolve a self-service AWS platform for secure, consistent, and efficient service deployment.
- Infrastructure as Code: Design, build, and maintain Terraform modules and environment strategies for scalable and compliant AWS provisioning.
- Automation & CI/CD: Develop and maintain automated delivery pipelines and CI/CD workflows (mainly using GitHub Actions) including validation and security scanning.
- Security & Compliance: Embed security-by-design principles, implement IAM best practices, encryption, and secure network architectures; ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Reusable Solutions: Create and manage standardized templates, golden paths, playbooks, and reusable infrastructure patterns for internal teams.
- Governance & Guardrails: Support implementation of governance mechanisms and infrastructure guardrails for risk and regulatory adherence.
- Operational Excellence: Improve platform reliability, scalability, developer experience, and operational efficiency through automation and continuous improvement.
- Tool & Service Evaluation: Assist in evaluating and adopting third-party tools and AWS services in line with platform and security standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with technical analysts, engineers, and application teams to ensure integration and adherence to engineering standards.
- Requirements Definition: Contribute to defining and evaluating functional/non-functional requirements (security, scalability, performance, resilience).
- AI/ML Enablement: Leverage AWS AI/ML services to accelerate platform automation, tooling, and developer experience.
- Python Automation: Develop and maintain Python-based automation (e.g., AWS Lambda workflows) to decrease manual operations.
- Event-Driven Architectures: Contribute to building event-driven/serverless components to enhance scalability and responsiveness.
- Network Architecture: Support the implementation of secure, scalable cloud network architectures.
- Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter contributor for AWS, Terraform, and platform engineering best practices.
- Observability: Enhance platform monitoring, alerting, and reliability through observability solutions.
- Positive Work Culture: Promote inclusivity, resolve blockers, and foster a healthy team environment.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Expertise in AWS, Terraform (including Terraform Enterprise), and DevOps practices.
- Strong experience with infrastructure automation (IaC), CI/CD, and cloud security.
- Proficient in scripting (Python/Bash) and programming (Java, Ansible).
- Knowledge of cloud networking, cloud-native security, monitoring, and logging.
- Experience in large-scale enterprise environments, ideally in financial services.
- Familiarity with container technologies (Kubernetes, Docker, Openshift).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in CS or related field; 5+ years' experience in cloud automation engineering.
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (4 days onsite/week) in Jersey City, NJ, Plano, TX, or Charlotte, NC.
