The Position We are looking for an Initial Billing Specialist to join the team! Education and Experience High school diploma required 1 year of medical billing experience preferred Experience with Microsoft Office Overview The Health Care Initial Billing Specialist is a member of the team responsible for coordinating and processing patient and insurance billing. Key Functions and Skills Submitting claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies to secure payment Creates patient accounts in billing systems to bill DME claims to payors and patients Reviews medical documentation to bill correct payors and products Creates and mails insurance claims Resubmits claims to insurance companies or other third parties to secure payment Qualifications Team Player: Works well as a member of a group Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well Goal Completion: Inspired to perform well by the completion of tasks Ability to Make an Impact: Inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of a project or the organization Self-Starter: Inspired to perform without outside help Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
