Pediatric Echocardiographer Technician II

Job Overview

F airview Health Services is hiring a pediatric echocardiographer technician II to join our team at our M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital location in Minneapolis, MN.

The Echocardiographer performs non-invasive cardiac diagnostic imaging using ultrasound technology to aid the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac diseases. As a Pediatric Echocardiographer, you will need to have the ability to evaluate pediatric patients with complex congenital heart disease, have basic knowledge of the incidence, causes, inheritance patterns, and pathologic consequences of congenital malformations, and have basic knowledge of the 3 major categories of corrective procedures and the variations encountered.

Schedule: This position will work 1.0 FTE, 80 hours every two weeks, 8 hour long day shifts with a weekend rotation as needed.


Job Expectations:

Demonstrating the ability to evaluate the cardiac status by using a logical and systematic approach to analyze the heart and related structures segmentally.
• Evaluating pediatric patients with complex congenital heart disease
• Providing relevant echocardiographic data, making quantitative calculations and communicating the impressions for the physicians.
• Accurately Document a preliminary echocardiogram report
• Demonstrating extensive knowledge of the incidence, causes, inheritance patterns, and pathologic consequences of congenital malformations

Qualifications

• 3 years of Pediatric Echocardiography experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association or American Red Cross (Required within 90 days of hire)
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - Pediatric Specialty (Required upon hire)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5 years of Pediatric Echocardiography experience
• 3 years of Echocardiography experience
• 1 year of Fetal Echocardiography experience
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - Fetal Specialty
• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) - Adult Specialty
