What You'll Do

• Administer chemotherapy and hematology treatments to adult and geriatric patients
• Monitor patient vital signs and responses to therapies, including blood products and IV medications
• Care for patients with acute leukemia, managing infusion protocols and electrolytes
• Interpret telemetry data and dysrhythmias, utilizing MS/Tele technology
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure patient safety and adherence to infection prevention and fall prevention protocols
• Manage central and peripheral lines, including PICC line care and blood draws
• Respond promptly to emergencies via Rapid Response Teams
• Adhere to all safety and quality standards, including infection control and patient safety measures

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• BLS, ACLS, and ONS Chemo Certification (required); NIHSS preferred
• At least 2 years of nursing experience with inpatient hematology/oncology
• Proficiency in MS/Tele, telemetry monitoring, and IV therapy
• Strong assessment and patient management skills
• Ability to self-schedule and adapt to rotating shifts

About the Assignment

This assignment is based in a high-acuity hematology and oncology unit specializing in the care of newly diagnosed leukemia patients. The unit handles blood products, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management, with a staffing ratio goal of 1:4 (flexible to 1:5). The schedule includes variable weekend shifts, with a focus on infection prevention and patient safety.
