Coordinator for Adult Faith Formation

Job Summary:

The Coordinator for Adult Faith Formation supports pastors and lay-teachers in providing educational faith formation opportunities where Jesus Christ transforms lives. This position provides hospitality, administrative, logistical, communication, volunteer and program coordination of classes, groups and events to support a welcoming, wellorganized, accessible environment for transformational adult faith formation opportunities.

Essential Functions:

• Class and Program Coordination
  • Coordinate class offerings and schedules
  • Coordinate space needs, room assignments, setup and reset
  • Ensure coordination of offerings across program areas
  • Coordinate pastoral coverage for team-taught classes
  • Provide logistical support of lay-led classes and groups
  • Setup and manage registration and attendance for classes, groups, and events
  • Schedule program-planning meetings as needed
• Materials and Resources
  • Order, prepare distribute books/resources/supplies
  • Prepare and distribute online resources
• Communication
  • Work with Communications Team to promote classes/groups/events
  • Send weekly reminder emails to groups/leaders as needed
  • Prepare and distribute newsletters
  • Communicate with participants, leaders, committees, and planning groups
  • Manage Adult Faith Formation Connection Requests within Rock
  • Connect new and existing members with formation opportunities
• Hospitality and Event Coordination
  • Ensure hospitality for all Adult Faith Formation classes, groups, programs, and special events, in collaboration with the Engagement Team
  • Coordinate all-church class/speaker events
  • Provide on-site support and hospitality for special events and guest speakers, helping ensure that participants, leaders, and guests experience a welcoming, well-organized and accessible environment
  • Coordinate food and refreshments for classes, groups, meetings, and events, including determining anticipated numbers and menu needs, placing orders, and coordinating receipt, setup, and distribution upon delivery
• Budget Support
  • Track expenses
  • Submit receipts
  • Check expenses against the budget

Other Responsibilities:

• Act as administrative lead for the Associate Pastor for Adult Faith Formation

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's level or higher degree preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work on Sundays
• Deep faith in Jesus Christ, Christian values, strong interpersonal skills, and personal integrity

Physical Qualifications:

• Able to move freely in and out of different settings (church, homes, businesses)
