Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our team in Berkeley, CA. This is an onsite temporary opportunity supporting payroll operations for a growing organization. The ideal candidate will have experience processing full-cycle payroll, ensuring payroll accuracy, and maintaining compliance with California labor laws.
Responsibilities:
- Process full-cycle payroll accurately and on time
- Review and audit employee time records
- Calculate overtime, PTO, bonuses, deductions, and tax withholdings
- Maintain payroll records and generate payroll reports
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies
- Partner with HR and Finance to ensure payroll compliance
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and California payroll regulations
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of payroll experience
- Experience processing full-cycle payroll
- Experience with Paycor or similar payroll software preferred
- Strong understanding of California wage and hour laws
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting

- Reports directly to the HR Manager
- Pay rate: $32-$37/hr DOE
