Accountant, Fixed Assets

HB: 00015 Store Support Center R301US Hibbett Retail, Inc. The Accountant, Fixed Assets will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the company's capital assets, from acquisition and capitalization through depreciation, transfer, and disposal. Maintain accurate and timely fixed asset records across multiple fascias and subsidiaries, ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies, and prepare fixed asset journal entries, reconciliations, depreciation calculations, accruals, and period-end reporting. Monitor capital expenditures processed through Workday, support construction in progress accounting, assist with audits and internal controls, and ensure fixed asset activity is accurately reflected in the company's financial records. Key Responsibilities Maintain complete, accurate, and timely records of fixed asset acquisitions, transfers, and disposals in the FAS system for multiple fascias and subsidiaries. Prepare and record fixed asset journal entries in accordance with established accounting policies and procedures. Ensure fixed asset records and accounting activity comply with U.S. GAAP and applicable company accounting principles. Maintain complete, accurate, and timely records of construction in progress (CIP), ensuring projects are properly tracked and capitalized when appropriate. Calculate and record book and tax depreciation expense for monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year-end reporting periods. Prepare monthly property roll-forwards and reconcile the fixed asset subsidiary ledger (FAS) to fixed asset-related general ledger accounts in Workday at the cost center level. Prepare and maintain period-end, quarter-end, and year-end fixed asset reporting, including depreciation expense, net book value, disposal, and transfer reports. Monitor fixed asset invoices processed through Workday to ensure invoices identified for capitalization meet established company guidelines and accounting requirements. Prepare fixed asset accruals during quarter-end and fiscal year-end close processes to ensure expenses and capital assets are accurately reflected in the appropriate reporting period. Provide documentation, schedules, reconciliations, and other support for internal and external audit requests related to fixed assets. Protect company assets and financial information by maintaining accurate fixed asset records, supporting effective internal controls, and communicating potential fraud risks or control concerns to management and appropriate officials. Required Education And/or Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; 2-4 years of relevant work experience in Finance, Treasury, Financial Operations, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Computer And Technical Skills Proficiency in all Microsoft Office equivalent programs along with experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel, along with experience with Workday Financials and corporate credit card programs. Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP, with strong attention to detail and communication skills. Results-oriented with high learning agility and strong analytical thinking skills.
