The Role We are seeking a strategic and dynamic Sr. Human Resources Manager to partner closely with operations and lead HR initiatives that support business performance. This role is responsible for delivering end-to-end HR support, including employee relations, talent development, and workforce optimization, while driving continuous improvement across HR processes. The ideal candidate is an innovative, data-driven leader with a passion for influencing leaders at all levels and building a high-performing, growth-oriented culture. This position is based onsite in the Greater Louisville or Sellersburg area and reports to the VP of HR as part of the HR Operations team. What You’ll Do Develop, implement, and administer employee policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with current labor laws and HR best practices. Stay informed on regulatory changes and provide guidance to managers and supervisors on policy interpretation and application. Ensure ongoing compliance with all federal and state employment regulations. Lead, develop, and mentor the HR team by providing coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities that build capability, strengthen performance, and support succession planning. Partner closely with the Vice President of Operations to support operational objectives, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and the execution of strategic initiatives. Lead and support employee engagement initiatives, including SBP programs at assigned plant locations. Oversee employee relations activities such as recognition programs, Vision Team initiatives, and employee satisfaction efforts. Serve as a proactive problem-solver by addressing employee and organizational issues using data-driven decision-making and root cause analysis to identify sustainable solutions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the HR function by identifying process gaps, improving efficiencies, and enhancing overall service delivery. Respond to internal and external inquiries from entities such as the EEOC, legal authorities, and government agencies. Notify the Vice President of Human Resources of all such matters and represent the organization at hearings as needed. Manage and support the full employee lifecycle for exempt, non-exempt, and temporary staff, including recruitment, onboarding, compensation, performance management, succession planning, and offboarding. Plan, organize, and oversee all departmental activities, contributing to the development and achievement of departmental goals and objectives. Maintain accurate HR records and reports; actively participate in departmental meetings, cross-functional meetings, and professional development seminars. Identify trends and recommend innovative approaches that support continuous improvement, strengthen organizational effectiveness, and resolve recurring issues at their root cause. Champion and model the organization’s mission, vision, and core values. Generate standard and ad hoc reports as requested. Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all HR activities. Comply with company emergency evacuation procedures to support employee safety. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. Who You Are Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 3 years in an HR Manager or equivalent leadership role. Professional certifications such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP preferred. Demonstrated ability to coach, influence, and advise leaders at all levels of the organization on people-related matters, including performance management, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Preferred: Experience in a manufacturing environment. Health, Safety, Physical & Travel Requirements Normal amount of sitting and standing, average mobility to move around an office and plant environment, able to conduct normal amount of work on a computer.
