About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to join its vibrant, mission-driven community. The CAO will be responsible for leading the strategic integration of marketing, development, and recruitment into a cohesive, multi-year institutional strategy. This role involves breaking away from traditional, episodic fundraising to create a unified, high-performing "Advancement Engine" that supports the school's growth and success. The ideal candidate will be a strategic and relationship-driven leader with a strong advancement background, including experience in major gift fundraising, donor cultivation, and capital campaigns. They should be an excellent communicator, an effective team manager, and proficient in advancement software and operational tools. Key responsibilities for the CAO include executive leadership, departmental supervision, and oversight of the advancement budget. The successful candidate will also be involved in board and committee governance, and data-driven reporting, and will work closely with the Head of School and Board members on major gift solicitations. The role requires a minimum of 7 years' of advancement experience, a Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred), and a proven track record in strategic planning and operational data analysis. Familiarity with the Detroit Jewish community is a plus. The CAO will also be expected to foster authentic connections with students, inspire them to think critically, and support the school's values of academic excellence and Jewish tradition.
