Air Compressor Technician - 2942USA:TX:Longview | Shop & Field Service Support | Full-TimeResponsibilities of the Air Compressor Technician include, but are not limited to:Diagnose, repair, and maintain air compressors, air treatment equipment, and related productsAssess condition of various filters, oil, and other maintenance consumablesPerform all preventative maintenance tasks to the standard set by the manufacturerNavigate various control systems to document service and failure codesComplete documents detailing the work performed and parts replacedMake recommendations for future service workCommunicate effectively with customers and DXP inside sales to drive successful service outcomesAssist repair mechanics with diagnosis and repair of various compressor partsKeep supplies and tools up to dateAttend safety and manufacturing training as necessaryFollow customer specific safe work practicesQualifications of the Air Compressor Technician include, but are not limited to:Previous direct experience with air compressors or refrigeration is preferred3+ years of mechanical, instrumentation, or controls service experience requiredMust be able to work on a ladder, operate a man-lift and forkliftThorough understanding of hand and power toolsAbility to read instruction manualsAble to use computers and tabletsMust have acceptable driving record according to company guidelinesAble to pass background check and drug screeningAble to work overtime as requiredAdditional Information:Physical Demand: Able to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time, drive for several hoursWorking conditions: Various customer locations including petrochemical, oil and gas, repair, and general industry; Many locations are subject to outside weather conditions.Training/Certifications: Training/certification will be providedShift time/Overtime: Hourly; OT as needed; on-call rotationTravel: Primarily regional to the Ark-La-TexEducation: High school diploma required; technical college degree preferredLocation: USA:TX:LongviewDXP offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time regular employees, normally working a minimum of 30 hours per week, including: medical, dental, vision, flexible spending account, paid holidays, life and disability insurance, and additional supplemental benefits.
