Fiscal Intern - Summer Position

SALARY: $15.00/ Hour - This is a temporary non-benefited position.

DEPARTMENT: Finance Department

Description:

• Provides exceptional front-facing and telephone customer service by warmly greeting visitors, proactively resolving inquiries, researching issues, and routing calls appropriately to maintain a positive, welcoming environment. (EE)
• Manages daily internal departmental deposits by verifying and matching cash/checks against received totals, ensuring adherence to fiscal protocols, and scanning transaction records to maintain meticulous financial files. (EE)
• Facilitates weekly Accounts Payable (AP) workflows for the Fiscal Specialist, which includes prepping accounts, reconciling and preparing fuel statements (WEX) for data entry, and organizing checks for mailing and distribution. (EE)
• Coordinates the fleet vehicle program by efficiently managing assignments, tracking utilization, and handling the daily check-in and check-out processes. (EE)

Requirements:

• Strong working knowledge of: Microsoft Excel, Word along with G-Mail and internet search engines.
• Must be detailed oriented.
• Knowledge of front office procedures and practicing professional office etiquette.
• Ability to communicate effectively both in verbally and in writing. Must communicate using proper grammar.
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Must be a team player.
• Ability to change and adapt from one task to another often in a fast-paced environment, with a positive attitude.
• Must be a quick and confident learner.
• Knowledge of office equipment
• Knowledge of basic accounting clerk procedures and ability to use a 10-key calculator helpful.
• Ability to deal with public in a pleasant and tactful manner.
• Ability to complete clerical transactions rapidly and accurately.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Excellent organizational skills and the initiative to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Must successfully pass a criminal history records check.
