About the Job Reporting directly to the Sr. Buyer , the role is a high‑visibility, high‑impact role within the Purchasing at TFI USA. This is your opportunity to influence, and innovate . Duties & Responsibilities Handle all purchasing activities; ensure all products are bought competitively and are sufficient and within spec for requirements and aligned with sales targets Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain adequate stock while minimizing excess inventory. Review and analyze purchase requisitions and production requirements. Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms with suppliers. Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships. Evaluate supplier performance regarding quality, cost, and delivery. Resolve issues related to shortages, late deliveries, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies. Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation. Coordinate with production, planning, warehouse, and accounting teams to ensure material availability. Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Assist with supplier audits, sourcing projects, and contract management. Ensure compliance with company policies and purchasing procedures. Perform other duties and support other activities assigned by the Management within scope and ability Requirements/Education/Experience/Skills 2 yrs degree in business or similar field of study preferred with 2-5 years’ experience or 7-10 years’ experience in a purchasing role Ability to build and sustain vendor relationships Strong analytical skills (statistics, economics, modeling) Strong organizational skills, handling workload and complexity Ability to interface with all levels of company staff in a wide variety of business situations Excellent problem-solving, issue resolution and decision-making skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Strong organizational skills and ability to ensure deadlines are met Why Join Thomas Foods?
