Inventory Control Coordinator

Position Overview Avantor is seeking an Inventory Control Coordinator for our Bridgeport, NJ facility. Monday - Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM schedule. Responsibilities Execute day-to-day inventory objectives by following procedures related to stock accuracy, inventory reconciliation, material movements, and system updates. Address unexpected inventory shortages, mismatched records, or urgent fulfillment issues. Communicate with internal teams (warehouse operations, procurement, production) and external contacts (suppliers or partners) to obtain or provide inventory-related information, often requiring explaining data discrepancies, clarifying inventory availability, or coordinating adjustments across systems or departments to maintain inventory integrity and support operational continuity. Maintain and update inventory records. Create efficient and accurate inventory management procedures. Reconcile inventories to book records and make adjustments when necessary. Coordinate annual physical inventory procedures. Perform weekly cycle counts and make system adjustments as necessary. In conjunction with the DC Supervisor, implement a loss prevention program. Make recommendations to the DC Supervisor on programs to improve inventory management. Maintain tight security over the inventory and ensure that only authorized personnel have access to inventory records. Conduct searches to locate products within the system. Adjust records when there are discrepancies and take steps to correct and prevent discrepancies. Supervise the inventory quality and accuracy assurance programs, including weekly and monthly reports. Develop a program to audit returns and move returned product to its proper location, processing proper documentation to generate a prompt credit transaction when necessary. Takes appropriate action on product that is not in saleable condition. Develop all necessary reports and documentation to facilitate accurate inventory counts, including records of all audits, counts and adjustments. Communicate timing of physical inventories and any variances. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar position preferred. Knowledge of inventory management procedures and general warehousing terminology and practices. Skills in mathematics, personal computers (Excel) and spreadsheets are vital. Interpersonal and communication skills are important. Familiarity with warehouse and inventory management systems required. Accuracy and thoroughness with great attention to detail. Pay Transparency The expected pre‑tax pay for this position is $41,000.00 - $66,125.00. Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
