The School of Public Safety, Health, and Wellness at Mission College seeks a highly competent, equity-engaged individual to serve in the capacity of Dean.

Under the general supervision of the Vice President of Instruction, or designee, the Dean of Public Safety, Health and Wellness works with the following departments and programs:
• Fire Protection Technology
• Nursing and Allied Health
• Pharmacy Technology
• Kinesiology

The Dean is an academic management position that has primary responsibility to build, maintain, and expand the exemplary programs and partnerships needed to train and prepare students for careers in the above areas. The position is directly responsible for providing the leadership, direction, and oversight of identified programs, faculty, staff, facilities, budget, policies, and procedures.

The Dean works closely with faculty, staff and other administrators as well as healthcare providers, regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, professional groups, local and regional organizations, and area colleges and universities to keep instruction, technology, and standards of practice up to date and to build new programs as appropriate. The incumbent must work closely with other college and district administrators in an environment of participatory governance to provide optimum quality services to students, faculty and staff at a community college.
