As the Safety Manager at Robinson, you will lead the strategic advancement of our safety culture through the development and implementation of comprehensive safety policies and practices. This role requires a strong personal commitment to safety and a passionate drive to protect our workforce and key stakeholders.
The Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing Robinson's Safety Programs at one or more Robinson locations, shaping a forward-thinking and proactive safety vision across the organization. This includes providing strategic direction and expert guidance to leadership and staff on the implementation of safety initiatives, regulatory compliance, reporting, and industry best practices.
Role + Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):
- Work with the Director of Manufacturing to ensure alignment and accountability in safety programs and practices.
- Collaborate with operations and other operational leaders to balance safety and business objectives.
- Present objective, data-driven reports to leadership to justify why policy changes or enforcement interventions are necessary.
- Implement newly created and approved organizational safety policies; fostering a strong, performance-driven safety culture that aligns with the company's needs and reduces incidents.
- Communicate safety policies and procedures to all levels of the organization.
- Partner with Safety Managers at other Robinson facilities to ensure continuity across the organization in both policies and enforcement.
- Coach and mentor leaders in the organization on daily safety management.
- Integrate safety into daily routines and operational workflows; Participate in plant gemba walks.
- Manage and hold the safety team accountable.
- Cultivate a collaborative team that supports all levels of the organization. Ensure team understands how to properly address violations in a respectful and responsible manner.
- Develop clear, measurable goals.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and provide continuous constructive feedback, create actionable development plans that support their growth and resolve performance issues.
- Build team structure which allows immediate response to critical safety crises or accidents outside of standard work shifts.
- Actively participate in the recruitment of new talent and ensure new hires are effectively integrated into the team and company.
- Develop and maintain safety KPIs and report metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Responsible for management of site and/or company safety spending along with establishing annual safety budget with site Director of Manufacturing.
- Ensure the safety manual complies with the policies that the company has established.
- Lead job hazard analysis and risk assessments for existing processes and new equipment configurations.
- Conduct proactive risk assessments and safety walks to ensure compliance.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with local, state and federal laws including OSHA standards and EPA guidelines.
- Oversee OSHA reporting, case management for recordable and lost-time incidents, and return-to-work programs ensuring that company policies are being followed at all times.
- Manage audits, work injuries, incident investigations, and follow-up with employees, healthcare providers, insurers and human resources.
- Ensure safety committee meetings are scheduled, organized and provide value to the organization.
- Set a Safety Committee agenda to be followed at each meeting.
- Report Safety Committee meeting summaries to Director of Manufacturing.
- Ensure Safety Committee team members are following safety practices and policies.
- Evaluate how many members are in each committee and what departments they are in ensuring multiple areas of the organization are present.
- Recommend updates to facilities, operations, and maintenance to eliminate hazards and meet evolving safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience: minimum of 5 years managing the safety division of a large construction or manufacturing company.
- Demonstrated success in building and managing a strong safety culture aligned with federal and state regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA standards, hazard analysis, and safety programs across plant, facility, and production environments.
- Demonstrated history of successfully navigating federal or state agency safety inspections.
- Experienced in project and program management with a strategic approach to integrating safety into operational and financial planning.
- Background in welding, metal fabrication, structural assembly, and skilled trades leadership, with hands-on familiarity with industry tools and equipment preferred.
Leadership Responsibilities:
This position oversees the safety team.

Travel is required between all Robinson, Inc. facilities.
