Esta es una posición especializada de enfermería en salud pública en el Programa de Salud Escolar. Esta persona debe tener un sólido conocimiento de la legislación estatal, políticas y procedimientos de salud del distrito escolar y de la escuela. Responsabilidades Realizar evaluaciones de enfermería, mantener registros de salud y monitorear el estado de inmunización. Proporcionar orientación clínica, desarrollar planes de atención médica y coordinar actividades educativas sobre salud. Impartir clases de educación sobre salud en diversas áreas (salud dental, prevención de lesiones, nutrición, actividad física, sexualidad humana, salud mental, etc.). Organizar la presencia de oradores autorizados durante las clases de educación sobre salud. Realizar actividades de bienestar para el personal y ayudar con el desarrollo del plan de estudios de educación sobre salud. Proveer servicios adicionales de salud en escuelas seleccionadas (exámenes, actividades para reducir la obesidad, exámenes de audición, escoliosis, visión, evaluaciones de IMC/desarrollo). Asegurar el cumplimiento del personal escolar con los requisitos de RCP y primeros auxilios y proporcionar asistencia técnica a las escuelas charter. Monitorear la incidencia de bebés de bajo peso al nacer y reportar casos de abuso, abandono o negligencia infantil. Participar anualmente en al menos dos ferias de salud comunitarias durante el periodo de evaluación. Ejecutar deberes de emergencia antes, durante y/o después de las horas de trabajo normales. Calificaciones Conocimiento sólido de la legislación estatal, políticas y procedimientos de salud del distrito escolar y de la escuela. Certificación en enfermería pública o experiencia equivalente. Habilidades de comunicación oral y escrita en inglés. Capacidad para cumplir con los requisitos de RCP y primeros auxilios. Habilidad para trabajar de manera efectiva con adolescentes y recursos educativos.
