Director, Manufacturing Operations

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks a Director of Manufacturing Operations to oversee clinical and commercial therapeutic protein manufacturing at its Devens facility. The role requires directing upstream or downstream operations, managing large teams, ensuring cGMP compliance, and driving operational excellence across multiproduct portfolios.
Responsibilities
- Direct all upstream or downstream manufacturing operations and resource allocation to meet production targets
- Manage commercial product delivery including Orencia, Empliciti, Opdualag, and biologics pipeline products
- Develop detailed manufacturing work schedules aligned with supply chain demand and new product introductions
- Drive cGMP compliance, safety leadership, and regulatory audit readiness across operations
- Recruit, develop, and coach high-performing teams while fostering continuous improvement culture
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in science, engineering, biochemistry, or related discipline
- Extensive biopharmaceutical manufacturing experience with process development and technology transfer knowledge
- Management experience leading teams exceeding 30 people with direct and indirect reports
- Mastery of standard operating procedures, cGMPs, and regulatory environment compliance
- Strong leadership and decision-making ability in complex, matrixed environments
- Demonstrated track record implementing continuous improvement and cost reduction strategies
- Knowledge of engineering principles and manufacturing automation systems
Compensation: $194,860 - $236,128
