Responsibilities Support individuals in achieving their personal goals and fulfilling their dreams by having a “person‑centered” focus. Teach independent living and daily skills to the persons‑served by identifying and meeting social, environmental, and health care needs such as daily grooming and personal care routines. Actively plan, coordinate, and participate with residents in social activities including frequent community outings. Instruct, support, and participate in performing household tasks with persons served such as cleaning, preparing meals, food shopping, etc. Who You Will Be Supporting Wears hearing aids Is very independent in a lot of ways but requires ADL assistance Has family that is involved in their life Loves animals Loves being out in the community regularly Is a selective eater that does not like sweets or junk food Qualifications Earned High School Diploma or GED from an accredited educational institution. Valid Driver's License. Able to communicate effectively with the individuals to whom services are provided. Experience in a residential setting serving people with intellectual/developmental disabilities or other special needs populations (rehabilitation settings, nursing homes, psychiatric hospitals, behavioral health settings, etc.). Skills Observant – Intermediate Critical Thinking – Intermediate Communication – Intermediate Loyal – Shows firm and constant support to a cause Enthusiastic – Shows intense and eager enjoyment and interest Dedicated – Devoted to a task or purpose with loyalty or integrity Education High School or better. Experience Less than 2 years of experience preferred. Licenses & Certifications Driver License.
