The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) / Caregiver provides compassionate and attentive support to individuals in their own homes, enhancing their quality of life by assisting with daily activities and personal care. This role focuses on delivering moderate to minimal physical assistance, promoting comfort, safety, and independence while building trusting relationships with clients and their families. The position operates primarily during day shifts, including evenings, weekends, and occasional on-call hours, with some travel between multiple clients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal hygiene and basic activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Provide medication reminders to ensure timely adherence
• Support client mobility and physical comfort
• Prepare meals according to client dietary needs
• Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce isolation
• Perform light housekeeping to maintain a safe, clean environment
• Document care provided and communicate effectively with families

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in personal care
• Certification in Personal Care Assistance or related field (CNA, HHA, PCA, DSP)
• Basic First Aid and CPR certification
• Strong time management and observation skills
• Demonstrated empathy and effective communication abilities
• Physical stamina to assist with client mobility and care techniques
• Accurate record keeping and patient care knowledge
