Tempering Operator/Assembly Line

Position Overview: This position is responsible for unloading custom tempered glass at the tempering unload. Proper glass handling techniques and minimal quality glass inspection are a must. 4/10hr shifts: Graveyard Monday - Thursday 5:45pm - 4:15am Pay: $20.00+$2.00 shift differential

Essential Job Functions:

• Near perfect attendance
• Read/measure glass accurately with tape measure
• Check glass quality and be able to identify basic glass defects
• Place glass in correct customer positions into bungees, harps and squeeze racks
• Should be able to accurately reject glass from bungees and squeeze racks
• Properly close finished orders
• Must be able to properly edge delete glass without causing quality issues
• Read and fill out proper unload paperwork (run list, packing maps)
• Should be able to set up customer orders properly
• Communicate with the Q.A and furnace operator in regards to quality or breakage issues
• Never allow the line to get backed up with glass
• Must possess a high sense of urgency

Non-essential Job Functions:

• Help out unload packer when able depending on glass production requirements
• Help out with coating, maintenance and other workstation operations if asked

Requirements:

• The ability to adhere to the company's policies, rules and regulations as set forth in the employee handbook
• Maintain and wear all required personal protective equipment and attend all safety meetings
• The physical demands of the job: lift 50 pounds, bend, squat, kneel, twist, stand for long periods of time, stretching, pulling and pushing
