About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 16 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required. License: Active nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Must-Have: Experience with PCU ratios of 1:5 Cardiac telemetry experience Management and interpretation of dysrhythmias Peripheral line care/management and PICC line management Ability to titrate drips Description: This position requires experience in a high-functioning progressive care unit. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5. Float to other units may be required as needed. Weekend and holiday rotations are part of the job responsibilities. The unit cares for adult patients, including those with stroke, renal disorders, sepsis, and endocrine disorders. All telemetry monitored beds provide cardiac surveillance. Cardiac monitoring is centralized within the facility. The unit accommodates patients requiring long-term care. Skilled management of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, and cardiac and vasoactive drips is essential. Travelers may be floated to other campuses as necessary. All RNs must pass a compliance EKG exam, with two attempts allowed.
