About the Role

The Company is seeking a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join its leadership team. The COO will work closely with the President/CEO to provide strategic and operational oversight of various functions, including financial and accounting operations, human resources, administration, facilities, security, information technology, risk management, and vendor relations. This role is pivotal in translating the organization's direction into action, ensuring that all operations are in line with the company's mission and financial resources, and maintaining a high standard of performance and accountability across all departments. Candidates for the COO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a preference for an advanced degree or professional certification. A minimum of 5 years' experience in nonprofit administration and operations is required, with a strong background in financial management, budgeting, and HR. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and managing realistic budgets, aligning operations with available resources, and leading through collaboration and sound judgment. Proficiency in QuickBooks for nonprofit accounting is essential, and experience with museum management or similar visitor-serving nonprofits is a plus. The COO must be adept at problem-solving, have excellent communication skills, and be committed to the mission of the organization.
