Job Description Job Description Looking to Hire a Medical Assistant in Middletown, NY ! Responsibilities * Collect patient data in person and by phone and document patient concerns. * Record messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review. * Take complete and accurate messages, routing them to the appropriate area for direction, order, and referral entry. * Set up cases in the EMR system and perform basic registration and updating of demographics. * Accurately document medical information in patient records. * Track and route test results to physician(s)/nurse practitioner(s) for review. * Communicate test results with patients when deemed appropriate by physician/nurse practitioner. * Facilitate patient care activities, including scheduling ancillary tests, reinforcing patient education, and performing triage as directed by physician/nurse practitioner. * Maintain an adequate inventory of medical, office, and pharmaceutical supplies. * Perform basic computer skills in using electronic health records proficiently while conducting daily documentation and communications involved in patient care. Essential Skills * 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience * Proficiency in using electronic health records * Strong communication skills * Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment Additional Skills & Qualifications * Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) * Experience with EMR systems * Knowledge in phlebotomy Work Environment This position is in a busy urgent care setting with a patient load of 50-100 patients a day. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with flexibility to work until 6 PM if needed. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Middletown, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
