Float pool nurses have a unique opportunity to influence patient care by moving between various assignments and supporting different hospital units. They possess advanced critical thinking abilities, extensive clinical knowledge, and the capacity to remain composed in high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Under the guidance of the Director, Manager, or Nurse Manager, the Registered Nurse (RN) will coordinate and deliver patient care, taking individual responsibility for nursing services.
• The RN will ensure that nursing care aligns with hospital policies, state Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice, and unit-specific standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri is required. If only a multistate RN license is provided upon hire, a Missouri RN license must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• BLS certification is required at the time of hire and must be maintained.
• ACLS certification is required within six months of hire.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification must be completed within 90 days of hire and annually thereafter.
• Documentation of at least eight (8) hours of cerebrovascular-related continuing nursing education is required each fiscal year.
• Credentialing in trauma care (TNCC) must be achieved within six months of assignment, along with eight (8) hours of trauma-related continuing education annually.
• 1-2 years of prior nursing experience is preferred.
• Experience in a facility of similar size and services is preferred.
• Previous experience in emergency, pre-hospital, or critical care settings is advantageous.

We also provide physical therapy, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, sports medicine, respiratory care, women's health, and various surgical services.
