Estimator - Heavy Civil

Job Description

We are seeking an Estimator to prepare bids and manage preconstruction efforts for heavy highway and bridge projects . This role works closely with Project Managers and leadership to develop accurate cost estimates, analyze plans, and evaluate subcontractor and material quotes.


Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed estimates for heavy highway, bridge, and civil construction projects
  
  
• Perform quantity takeoffs and review plans and specifications for constructability
  
  
• Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
  
  
• Prepare bids, proposals, and value-engineering options
  
  
• Assist in risk assessment and recommend cost-saving strategies
  
  
• Coordinate with Project Managers and field teams to confirm scope and constructability
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
  
  
• 2+ years estimating experience in heavy civil, highway, or bridge projects
  
  
• Strong ability to read plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports
  
  
• Proficient with estimating software (e.g., HeavyBid, Bluebeam, AGTEK ) and Microsoft Office
  
  
• Knowledge of production rates, construction methods, and DOT standards
