Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (Contract-to-Hire)

Pay Rate: $18.00 - $23.00/hour (based on experience)

Location: Chicagoland Area / South Suburbs (Primary locations: Chicago / Midway area, Frankfort, Hazel Crest)

Schedule: Day shifts scheduled within the hours of 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM (Up to 8-hour shifts; weekly schedule provided. Part-time options available for at least 3 days/week: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday).

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and patient-focused Bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Assistant to join a growing specialty outpatient practice. This is a contract-to-hire position offering long-term stability with an employer dedicated to retaining top talent.

In this role, you will cross-train across both administrative and clinical duties. Because our patient population is managing chronic discomfort and pain, a caring attitude, patience, and de-escalation skills are key to ensuring a smooth, welcoming experience for every patient.

What You'll Do

• Clinical Support:

  • Room patients and record accurate vital signs.

  • Prepare and draw medications as directed (standard medication dispensing- no injections required ).

  • Collect routine urine samples and run basic point-of-care tests (no advanced lab testing).

• Front Office & Administration:

  • Greet arriving patients, verify intake information, and manage front desk check-in/check-out.

  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing patient referrals.

  • Assist with general clerical work, chart preparation, and scheduling according to daily clinic volume.

• Patient Care & Communication:

  • Provide clear, empathetic communication in both English and Spanish.

  • Support patients with professionalism, warmth, and composure.

Key Requirements

• Language: Fluent / bilingual in English and Spanish (required).

• Certification / Experience:

  • Active Medical Assistant Diploma or Certification (CMA/RMA/CCMA), OR at least 1 year of hands-on Medical Assistant experience.

  • Note: Medical receptionists with previous hands-on clinical experience or recent MA graduates without prior clinic experience are welcome to apply!

• Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

• Flexibility:

  • Willingness to be cross-trained across front-desk and back-office responsibilities.

  • Ability to commute to designated clinic sites across the South Chicagoland area (Midway/63rd, Frankfort, Hazel Crest). You will remain at one designated facility per day-no floating mid-shift.

Preferred Qualifications

• High emotional intelligence, de-escalation skills, and customer service experience handling patients experiencing chronic pain.

• Strong multitasking skills with an ability to pivot between clerical tasks and hands-on patient care based on daily volume.
