About the Vision FBC Peachtree City is seeking a Student Ministries Pastor who will passionately minister to students by making disciples and leading them to “Go farther” with God’s global mission. Under the supervision of the Executive Pastor of Family Life, the Student Ministries Pastor serves on the Family Life Team to provide leadership and influence to the students (6thgrade through 12th grade) and their families, volunteers, and paid staff members. This individual will be a minister who is called to student ministry and demonstrates previous experience in leading a strong ministry. The Student Ministries Pastor must enjoy hands-on engagement with students while also being an effective developer of leaders who will lead the ministry from the 125 students regularly attending FBC Peachtree City to the 200 who are connected to FBC Peachtree City and throughout the 20,000 students that are spread throughout the 7 local high schools and their feeder schools in the area. About the Church FBC Peachtree City is a conservative evangelical church with a strong Southern Baptist Heritage that is evident in its commitment to making disciples and answering God’s missionary call. These values are evident in its mission to “Influence all people into intimate followship with Jesus.” FBC Peachtree City pursues this mission by launching healthy disciple-making ministries throughout southwest Atlanta and globally where FBC Peachtree City has a goal of engaging and supporting 36 strategic global mission partners. Today, FBC Peachtree City is experiencing steady growth in a growing community where the gospel is needed through two primarily contemporary modern worship services offered each Sunday and a modified Wednesday night schedule. With the use of FBC Peachtree City’s Bridge Community Center, the church is making a tangible connection to the community. About the Opportunity A more detailed job description will be provided during the interview process. Under the direction of the Executive Pastor of Family Life, the Student Ministries Pastor will excel as a: Team Player – Serving as an engaged member of the ministry staff for the overall mission of the church. Disciple-maker – Making and growing disciples personally and through the student ministry as he leads/oversees the student LIFE Group ministry, student worship experiences, and missional/discipling events (camps, retreats, DNow, mission trips) annually. Ministry Leader – Overseeing the effective utilization of ministry resources. Regularly engaging with students (and/or their families) as well as volunteers, vendors, service providers, and the community. Developing and maintaining the budget and financial processes of the student ministry. Teacher – Preparing and delivering messages in separate large group gatherings for middle school students and high school students by creatively addressing relevant topics for each group of students. Leader Developer – Making and growing leaders through the student ministry. Supervising/developing staff as well as leaders/church members for effective ministry achievement. Communicating with leaders/participants effectively for the accomplishment of the ministry. Faithful Follower – Active, growing follower of Christ, sharing their faith and investing in others – modeling consistent Christ‑like character, consistent biblical stewardship with personal and church resources, and a consistent commitment to the ministry and mission of the church and its leaders. Committed Pastor – College or seminary degree preferred, and with proven experience in leading student ministries who has a strong biblical teaching/preaching background with proven student teaching experience. Experienced in recruitment and training of leaders in student ministries who possesses excellent communications and interpersonal skills, with the ability to write and engage people. Ministry Administrator – Excellent skills/experience in organization and strategic processes for student ministry who is proficient in computer/software for office usage and has adequate skills and/or abilities to utilize audio, video, and computer resources for ministry. About the Community With an estimated population just over 40,000, Peachtree City is one of the best communities in which to live and make a home in the metro-Atlanta area. This growing suburb just south of Atlanta is best known for its unique community, evident in the golf cart trails where residents can travel to schools, grocery stores, parks, and restaurants.
