Inova Alexandria is looking for a dedicated Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist 2 to join the team. This role will be Full-Time 40 hours per week with variable shifts. Sign on and Relocation Bonus available.

Job Responsibilities:  
\n  

\n

\n
• Assists the physician in performing a variety of examinations using standard department protocols, isolation precautions and/or sterile techniques as evidenced by Radiologist's satisfaction.
\n
• Demonstrates the ability to recognize clinical and/or emergent problems that may interfere with exams and takes appropriate action to resolve them while producing the most desirable outcome, as evidence by exam results and patient satisfaction. Communicates effectively with ordering and/or interpreting physicians to ensure appropriate use.
\n
• Demonstrates proper technique for injection of IV contrast, or other test-enhancing solution, under the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Standards. Ensures rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and has required supplies readily available for procedures.
\n
• Correctly identifies patients and appropriate orders, ensuring a high degree of accuracy, as evidenced by the lack of mismatched studies. Maintains active credential status by complying with continual education requirements. Attends at least 50 percent of QA conferences.
\n
• Demonstrates patient safety in department by use of side rails, braking mechanisms and patient monitoring as demonstrated by risk management. Reports, documents and corrects any adverse, unsafe or unusual conditions, as evidenced by documentation in the tracking system. Demonstrates proper care and aseptic cleaning of all patient related equipment following established department policies to ensure the quality of care provided to patients.

Additional Requirements:  \n

\n
• Licensure -If doesn't possess one of the above registries, must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
\n
• Certification - BLS and ACLS from AHA upon start; -Registered in one of the following: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Radiologic Technologist Vascular Interventional Radiology (RTR VI), Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular (RTR CV) or Radiologic Technologist Cardiovascular Interventional (RTR CI) required. Unless at least 5 years of Interventional Radiology Tech experience with active RTR registry, OR a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

• Experience -One year of experience in interventional Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab or Interventional Radiology Lab performing Cardio Invasive Specialist duties or equivalent years of experience as a nurse working in a critical care hospital unit.

• Education - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing -OR graduate of an accredited School of Cardiovascular Technology -OR Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
