Job TitleNurse Practitioner/Physician AssistantJob DescriptionThe current open positions (two full-time and one part-time) are in the Department of Health & Social Services, Family Health Services. The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant functions at an expanded level of responsibility by utilizing services of the nurse practitioner or the physician assistant within the framework of mutually established medical protocols and guidelines. Under the general direction of a physician, Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants assess and diagnosis medical needs of ambulatory and medical clinic patients, develop and implement treatment and intervention plans and evaluate patient's progress. They also conduct education/referral; case management; health promotion; disease prevention; community outreach; and medication administration. The eligible list created as a result of this recruitment will be used to fill full-time and part-time regular, limited-term or extra-help positions as vacancies occur or the need arises.Position RequirementsClinic, hospital or public health experience is desired.Nurse Practitioner:Current California Registered Nurse LicenseCurrent California Nurse Practitioner CertificationCurrent Nurse Practitioner National CertificationPhysician Assistant:Current California Physician Assistant LicenseSpecial RequirementsCurrent Adult, Child, and Infant CPR CertificateCurrent Controlled Substance Registration Certificate from the Drug Enforcement AdministrationBased on assignment, a valid California Driver's License, Class CBenefitsSolano County offers a cafeteria-style medical package with health benefits, offered through CalPERS. The County contribution for family coverage is $1586.60 per month for 2021. The County offers a cash back provision for those who choose employee-only or who waive medical insurance coverage. The County may offer a supplemental contribution for employees enrolled in Employee plus Two or More coverage.Dental and vision insurances for the employee and eligible dependents are paid 100% by the County.Solano County participates in CalPERS retirement and contributes to Social Security.Vacation is accrued at approximately 10 days per year for the first 3 years.Sick leave accrues at approximately 12 days per year.The County observes 12 full day fixed and 2 half day fixed paid holidays per year.
