divh2Stationary Engineer (License Required)/h2pResponsibilities:/pulliProvides adequate HVAC (heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing) for museum physical plant/liliMaintains mechanical equipment for museum physical plant and other properties/liliReviews daily equipment logs for accuracy/liliReviews meter readings for accuracy/liliMaintains museum vehicles, grounds, and other special projects/liliCompletes assigned work orders in a timely fashion/liliEscorts EF contractors to work sites on MFAH properties and supervises work/liliWorks on installation and de-installation of exhibitions with Curatorial, Preparations, Lighting, and Electrical/liliInstalls and de-installs banners for exhibitions/liliAssists in the installation and de-installation of the Retail shop for rotating exhibitions/liliSets up and breaks down tables, chairs, and other equipment for events/liliOperates various aerial lifts (20ft to 85ft) and fork lifts to complete tasks/liliDrives cargo van, box truck, and pickup truck to and from work sites/liliAs part of the essential staff- protects museum properties during natural disasters (hurricanes, floods, ice storms, etc.)/liliPerforms other duties as assigned/li/ulpSkills, Knowledge, and Abilities:/pulliWorking knowledge of A/C, heating, steam boilers, chillers, air handling units, electrical, plumbing, and auxiliary equipment/liliAble to read building prints/liliWilling to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime/liliAble to respond to emergency calls when off duty/liliAble to lift 75 lbs. or more and able perform a variety of physical tasks, including lifting heavy equipment, bending and stooping/liliStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and interact with Museum employees, outside contractors, and the general public/liliExcellent organizational skills with the ability to focus on details; effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks./liliMust have a valid Texas driver license and good driving record/liliAble to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing/li/ulpEducation and Experience:/pulliPossess a City of Houston 1st, 2nd or 3rd Grade Stationary Engineers License/liliHigh school diploma or equivalent/liliMinimum two years of experience in a similar capacity in a similar size and type facility/liliExperience with METASYS system a plus/li/ulpThe successful candidate will be required to meet our pre-employment background screening and physical exam requirements.
