The Team Lead Programming & Machining is responsible for leading and training a team of individuals to achieve organizational goals and objectives. They serve as the primary point of contact for team members, providing guidance and support to ensure successful completion of projects and tasks. What is the Team Programing & Machining responsible for? Establish clear expectations for all employees on workplace safety, PPE requirements and accident/incident reporting. Ensure proper housekeeping and workplace organization standards are established and maintained daily. Setting clear goals and objectives for the team in alignment with organizational priorities. Manage department performance KPI’s and deliver results in Safety, Quality, Cost and Delivery. Recruit, hire on-board and support, coach and train team members to ensure they grasp their duties and responsibilities and continually improve their skills and abilities. Promoting open dialogue and teamwork among colleagues to create a supportive and unified workplace atmosphere. Monitoring team progress and performance, identifying areas for improvement. Empowering team members by delegating tasks and responsibilities appropriately while providing opportunities for skill development and growth. Resolving conflicts and addressing issues within the team promptly and constructively. Leading by example and demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and accountability in all interactions. Collaborating with other departments or teams as necessary to achieve cross-functional objectives. Continuously evaluating and improving team processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Providing regular feedback and performance evaluations to team members to recognize achievements and identify areas for improvement. Ensure proper processes and guidelines are developed and documented for effectively maintaining machine tools. Establish and maintain machine tool inventory strategy and procurement plan. Oversee development and implementation of hydraulic cylinder assembly process. Develop and maintain high level of machine programming proficiency for machining centers, lasers and punches and show willingness to continually learn and evolve with advancements in technology. Develop and maintain required KPI’s to monitor and continually improve material utilization rates. Develop and maintain expert level proficiency in properly utilizing all necessary precision measuring devices. Develop and maintain raw material procurement and stocking program to ensure adequate levels of production inventory are maintained at all times. Manage day-to-day hydraulic cylinder assembly cell operations in accordance with operating plan. Establish and maintain a suitable working knowledge of fabrication technology. This includes laser cutting, plasma cutting, bending, shearing, and punching. Assist in development and implementation of fabrication process improvements to drive KPI performance measures efficiency, material utilization and scrap reduction. What knowledge, skills and abilities are required for the Team Lead Programing and Machining role? Possess strong leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate, inspire, and empower team members to achieve common goals. Clear communication to convey goals, expectations, and feedback and foster open dialogue and collaboration among team members. Identify challenges, analyze situations, and implement solutions to overcome obstacles and drive progress. Possess sound judgment and decisiveness to make timely and informed decisions, especially in high-pressure or ambiguous situations. Be able to mediate disputes, facilitate compromise, and promote harmony among team members. Strong organizational skills are essential for prioritizing tasks and managing resources. Be flexible and adaptable to changing circumstances, ready to pivot strategies and approaches as needed. Understanding and empathizing with team members' emotions and perspective to ensure trust, cohesion, and a supportive team culture.
