Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or youth-services setting preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework or completed paraprofessional certification is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions and classroom routines
- Patient, compassionate approach with a genuine interest in supporting student growth
- Team-player attitude and flexibility as classroom needs evolve
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teachers with classroom instruction and activities, both in small groups and one-on-one
- Support students with academic tasks, organization, and behavior management
- Collaborate with instructional staff to implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) and accommodations as needed
- Help maintain an orderly, safe, and welcoming classroom atmosphere
- Supervise students in various school settings, such as lunch, recess, or transitions
- Document observations and report student progress or concerns to lead educators
